Here we have an utterly charming “Du Mein” baby by beloved German dollmaker Kathe Kruse (1883-1968.) She features an expressive, painted cloth face with blue-grey eyes, petal pink cheeks and a sweetly pursed coral red lips (scattered, age related wear to head and face.) Her delicately painted hair is in a sweet shade of ginger brown.
Baby is on a firmly stuffed cloth body with stitched fingers and toes and weighted with sand creating a wonderful feel when held in the arms (body in good condition save scattered, age related wear.) A classic gown in fine white cotton with a bonnet of lace and cotton with silk ties is worn over a flannel diaper and a silky, button front undershirt. A sweet child in “played with” condition.
