Here we have a darling “Baby Sandy” doll Circa 1939. Based on the popular Universal Studios child star of the late 1930’s - early 1940’s, this sweet tot features features molded and painted brown hair with a curly forelock (hair does present scattered minor rubs), green sleep eyes (some yellow discoloration to eyes) and an open mouth with vivid, rose red lips open in a sweet smile, exposing two pearly front teeth and the tip of a felt tongue.
She is on a delightfully chunky, fully-jointed composition body in wonderful condition with molded dimples and blushing, (body does present rubs to the backs of both legs and left arm.)
Sandy wears a darling, romper style dress in pink cotton with a blue Peter Pan collar. A white buttoned bonnet in crisp white cotton frames her face. Underneath, she wears a cotton all-in-one. Cream oilcloth shoes and silky rayon socks complete her presentation. Baby wears a pin at chest that reads: Genuine Baby Sandy Doll - The Wonder Baby. A wonderful piece for collectors of Hollywood memorabilia or those who love the sweetly colorful ethos of the 1930’s.
