This Parsons-Jackson Company Biskoline baby, circa 1910, is a little piece of American toy-making history. Advertised as a "Kant Krack Kid" the swivel-neck baby is made of Biskoline, a unique moldable product. Features include a solid dome head with painted-blue eyes and an open/closed mouth with two painted front teeth and a molded and painted tongue (head presents minor surface wear.)
The jointed bent-limb baby body remains in good condition and features delightfully chunky legs that terminate in molded and painted white booties over blue stockings, (inner thigh of left leg presents surface crack, minor wear to painted booties.)
Baby wears a vintage, belted one piece suit in blue and white plaid with an integrated chest front featuring a rounded collar and vine embroidery. From the doll collection at Gae Gardens.
Embossed with Parsons-Jackson Co.’s stork trademark on back of head and upper back, THE PARSONS JACKSON CO. CLEVELAND OHIO upper back, THE PARSONS JACKSON CO. CLEVELAND OHIO USA on middle back.
