This Parsons-Jackson Company Biskoline baby, circa 1910, is a little piece of American toy-making history. Advertised as a "Kant Krack Kid" the swivel-neck baby is made of Biskoline, a unique moldable product. Features include a solid dome head with painted-blue eyes and an open/closed mouth with red inner painting (Head in good condition save scattered discoloration to back of head, right side.)
The jointed bent-limb baby body remains in good condition and features delightfully chunky legs that terminate in molded and painted blue booties and stockings, (wear to painted surface of bootie / stockings, left leg presents surface crazing.) Baby wears an antique cotton gown cotton trimmed in crocheted lace with a drawstring neckline (fabric damage to both sleeves.) From the doll collection at Gae Gardens.
Embossed with Parsons-Jackson Co.’s stork trademark on back of head and upper back and PARSONS JACKSON CO. CLEVELAND OHIO U.S.A. on back.
