We are pleased to offer a Chinese Door of Hope Kindergarten Child. Features include a wonderfully expressive carved and painted wooden face with a painted lock of hair peeking out from an embroidered silk headdress.
On a firmly stuffed cloth body with finely carved wooden arms, this child wears a charming hand-sewn costume comprised of a printed cotton tunic, apron with front pocket, silk pants and a wide embroidered silk collar. Sweet, hand stitched slippers with whimsical cat faces complete the presentation.
The costumes for these beloved dolls were hand sewn from fabric scraps by young girls residing in the Door of Hope Missions started in Shanghai, China in 1901. In wonderful condition with a minor area of discoloration above right eyebrow. These highly desirable models will be wonderful to add to an existing Door of Hope collection.
