We are pleased to offer “Betty Jane, One of America’s Children” by beloved American doll artist Dewees Cochran (1892-1991.) This strikingly beautiful little girl features a composition head with beautiful modeling and painting including expressive, almond shaped blue eyes, gently blushed cheeks and sweetly pursed rose red lips. This lovely face is framed by a titian human hair wig that falls in waves down her back and is topped with a houndstooth cap (area of discoloration to wig at upper right front.)
She is on a jointed composition body in excellent condition that features blushed knees and gracefully articulated hands with coral tinted nails. She wears a stylish ensemble in black and white houndstooth check featuring a pleated skirt and coat over a cream dimity blouse with a rounded collar. She accessorizes with a matching pocketbook and a pair of finely stitched navy leather gloves. Silky cream stockings and black patent leather shoes complete her presentation.
Hangtag at left wrist features the EFFANBEE heart logo and reads, “I am Betty Jane One of America’s Children.”
