From the pages of the famed French girl’s magazine La Semaine De Suzette (published 1905-1960) comes the beloved character “Bécassine.” She features a jointed, wooden peg style body that retains its painted finish in good condition (some crazing to body.) Her classic Breton costume is rendered here in pieced cotton with a green overdress edged in black and a sewn on cotton apron. Underneath, she wears red cotton pantaloons. Her black wooden clogs and red and white striped stockings are integrated into her body. Wonderful to display with your Bleuettes!
