“Mary Mary Quite Contrary” R. John Wright Nursery Rhyme Series
“Mary Mary Quite Contrary” R. John Wright Nursery Rhyme Series
We are delighted to present “Mary Mary Quite Contrary” from R. John Wright’s Nursery Rhyme Series. She may be quite contrary, but she is absolutely adorable! This classic character features a fully-jointed felt body, fine facial painting and molding, brown eyes, deeply blushed cheeks and a delicately painted mouth. Her face is framed by a soft, light brown mohair wig styled into two darling braids and tied with green felt bows. She wears a fine cotton gauze dress with applied green felt polka dots, puffed sleeves and an extra full skirt with a built in underskirt as well as a slip. Over this, she wears a pleated linen gardening apron in a rich apricot hue that features five deep pockets across the front. Cream cotton stockings and black felt slippers complete her charming look. She carries a wooden rake with silver painted tines. Signed by R. John Wright on the back of neck and complete with sewn on tag (on underskirt) and hang tags at her wrist, one signed by R. John Wright. In beautiful condition, does not include box.
