R. John Wright Nursery Rhyme Series "Tom, Tom, The Piper's Son"
From R. John Wright’s Nursery Rhyme series, we are pleased to present "Tom, Tom, The Piper’s Son." This mischevious young man has just stepped out of a nursery rhyme and carries an adorable stolen pig in his arms! He features a fully jointed felt body and fine facial painting with delicately blushed cheeks, blue eyes and delicately painted lips. His face is framed by a soft, red mohair wig and topped by a jaunty blue cap. He wears a beautifully tailored costume of fine felt featuring a blue jacket, plaid kilt and maroon shorts. A brown leather sporran is buckled at his waist (leather separated at end of belt.) Knitted lavender and white striped stockings and brown leather buckled shoes complete his classic look. He carries a beautifully made mohair pig with shaded fur, glass eyes and a curly tail.
Number 91 from a limited edition of 100, he is in wonderful condition with tags and metal button - pig retains metal tag. No box.
Measures 17” tall.
