Nancy Ann Storybook Dionne Quintuplets

$295.00

Set of Dionne Quintuplets in bisque, circa 1935 made in Japan for Nancy Ann Storybook dolls. Details of all five Dionne sisters – Annette, Cecile, Emelie, Marie and Yvonne include: bisque bodies and heads in good condition (showing normal wear mainly to the surface of the tops of the heads), deeply blushed cheeks and tiny, open, rosebud pink mouths. The girls are swaddled in pink wool blankets with stitched hems, and each wears a pink flannel diaper pinned in the front. A tiny, early plastic baby bottle is sewn to the collar of each swaddle blanket. They are seated in their original basket lined in pink flannel, with a pink flannel cushion edged in crocheted pink lace. The basket’s edge is threaded with antique pink grosgrain ribbon. Each baby is incised Made in Japan on their backs and painted Japan on their lower backs. Five wonderful pieces of dolly history!

Each doll measures: 4-1/2" long.
