7” Lenci character, a very early product from the company, is this rather rotund sailor. Details include a felt head with pressed and painted facial features depicting a plump-faced sailor, painted closed eyelids, high arched brows, closed smiling mouth with hole for insertion of wooden pipe (now missing), auburn hair and beard with attached black oilcloth hat. The firmly-stuffed plump body features an attached pink and cream striped felt shirt, blue middy jacket (loss to one button), and grey trousers. The condition here is fair, showing fading, loss to the pipe and normal wear. Complete with the original paper tag.
