From the pages of the famed French girl’s magazine La Semaine De Suzette (published 1905-1960) comes the beloved character “Bécassine.” She is from the R. John Wright series entitled "L'Enfance de Bécassine” and was created for an event (Silly Goose Tales) at the UFDC convention in 2006. Of fine felt with finely painted features, Bécassine wears her traditional French ensemble, typical of the Brittany (Bretagne) region. Her costume includes an olive green felt dress and white cotton apron with a red felt windowpane overlay, colorful, pieced felt cap and beautifully crafted felt and leather boots.
Number 233 from a limited edition of 400, she remains in excellent condition with her original box, felt dust bag, and signed tag.
Accessories include a brown leather school bag filled with faux miniatures including a slate, issues of La Semaine De Suzette, an alphabet book and a Bécassine magnet.
