Here we have a group of six Chinese dolls attributed to the Door of Hope Mission of Shanghai, China. Each handmade doll features a firmly stuffed silk head with delicately painted and embroidered features and a flexible wire body with articulated hands. The two female dolls feature silky floss hair styled in a delicately coiffed bun and hand sewn costumes (likely sewn by young girls.) The four male dolls feature a variety of costumes and sweetly sewn and painted faces. These would work well as doll companions to the Door of Hope children.
