Simon & Halbig 1079 as an American Red Cross Nurse
Simon & Halbig 1079 as an American Red Cross Nurse
We are pleased to offer a German bisque child by Simon & Halbig, mold #1079, costumed as an American Red Cross nurse. Outstanding features of this lovely example, who was at one point part of the fundraising events hosted by Miss Rose Percy, include creamy pale bisque, gorgeous blue sleep-eyes with mohair lashes, a dimpled chin, pierced ears with red glass earrings and a beautiful dark blonde mohair wig.
On a jointed composition body that remains in very good condition, she is beautifully costumed in white and red cottons, including a fine windowpane cotton headdress, complete with an embroidered red cross symbol.
Also included is a sweet, dollhouse child from the Kestner firm, now costumed as a Junior Red Cross Nurse, and a part of Rose Percy's original Red Cross Museum inventory.
