German bisque character baby "Jean" by J.D. Kestner, with features that include perfect bisque, a beautiful rosy complexion, brown glass set eyes, an open mouth with two teeth and a molded tongue. Her molded and painted hair is rendered in delicate brushstrokes of dark blonde. On a delightfully chunky bent limb composition baby body with the original paint finish in good condition, with normal, age related surface wear throughout, there is a bit of flaking at the neck opening.
Baby wears an antique gown in fine cotton with a fine cotton slip underneath, while the face is framed by a bonnet in yellow floral dimity with an organza ruffle and a yellow silk tie at the chin. Head Incised: "JDK 15 Made in Germany"
