Here we have a darling, and relatively uncommon, dome head “Lori Baby” from the German firm Swain & Co. Features include delicately blushed cheeks, a finely painted open-closed mouth, set blue glass eyes, and softly shaded light brown hair (rubs to back of head.)
On a bent-limbed composition baby body in good condition, save for normal, age-related wear, particularly to fingertips (some repaired) and a surface crack to inside of right leg, baby wears a fine cotton gown with floral embroidery, plus a cotton bonnet embellished with delicate lace and mauve silk ribbon. Underneath, a long cotton slip and a flannel diaper is worn. Wouldn’t this little one be sweet in an antique crib or in the arms of your favorite German child?
