Darling Kestner "Hilda" - Circa 1914
Darling Kestner "Hilda" - Circa 1914
It's a pleasure to offer a spectacular "Hilda" baby from J.D. Kestner, a mold 245. Features include a perfect bisque head with exquisite coloring and painting, blue sleep-eyes and an open mouth that reveals a molded tongue and two upper teeth. Hilda's face is framed by an original blonde mohair wig and crocheted bonnet with pink silk ribbon. On a jointed, composition, bent-limb body with the original paint finish showing normal wear (particularly to hands), she wears a darling white cotton gown with lace insets and bretelle style shoulders in frothy lace. Underneath, layers of antique underthings plus knitted cream booties are worn (booties do present some damage.)
