Here we have a lovely example of a J. D. Kestner 247, known to collectors as "Baby Jean". Features of this classic character baby include a perfect bisque head with blue glass sleep-eyes, eyelid wax in good condition, an open mouth with two upper glass teeth, her original plaster pate, and a high quality replacement skin wig in light brown, a great match to the brow color.
The Kestner body, a bent-limb model, does retain the original finish showing normal wear. Note there are repairs to fingers on both hands.
A long, sweet baby dress with lace insertion is the perfect choice for this little one, plus she loves her cream and blue wool sweater and coordinating cap.
Little Jean really is quite an agreeable baby, wouldn't you say?
