No exaggeration, this is one of the finest Dinner Services of this genre that we have seen. The condition is remarkable, and the quality is as well. From the French firm Cuperly-Blondel-Gerbeau, this set dates after 1900, due to the mention of a gold medal won by the company upon the box lid. What we have here is a complete dinner and soup service for six, in pewter, plus gilt metal cutlery. No apologies here save for one non-matching napkin ring. 
A marvelous opportunity for the collector of boxed etrennes.
