19" French Bebe 8 attributed to the Jumeau firm, this doll is marked only “M 8.” and was most likely produced as an exclusive for a Paris department store. Details include a perfect poured bisque head, chocolate brown paperweight eyes in even eyecuts, pierced ears and a darling replacement mohair wig in lovely auburn. Mlle. features a jointed composition, five-piece body with the original paint finish in good condition, save for some refreshed paint to the hands that is now a bit flaky.
She wears a sweet ensemble that is composed of an underdress in tan challis wool, over which is worn a luscious woolen confection in wool with applied silk ribbon stripes, enhanced with lace and covered buttons. A jewel of a Jumeau in an adorable presentation, that also includes antique cream leather shoes in her size, plus a spectacular coordinating cream satin bonnet.
