We are pleased to offer a wonderful African American Folk Art cloth doll. Her face is beautifully embroidered with feathered brows, a dimensional appliqued nose and full, embroidered lips in a coral hue that part to reveal two embroidered front teeth. She wears a cotton flannel head wrap in a pattern of white polka dots on a background of soft blue. Her body features slender, tapered limbs (body is in good condition save some settling of the filling in upper arms and upper legs.) She wears a charming frock style dress in vivid, turkey red cotton with a pattern of stylized vines and flowers and mother of pearl buttons down the front with a hand stitched placket and button holes in a vivid blue. The dress is embellished with a hand sewn border in cream lace with blue stitching. A pair of cream lace garters on lower legs (frayed threads attached to garters, possibly remnants of a pair of stockings) completes her charming presentation.
