Here we have an exquisite Papier-Mâché lady who boasts an expressive face and an elaborate Appollo Knot hairstyle. Attributed to the Kestner firm, classic features include aqua blue eyes, and a leather and wood milliner's model-type body with green-painted slippers. She wears a marvelous gown of windowpane cotton gauze with leg o’ mutton sleeves, black lace details at bodice and cuffs and a matching black lace veil. Underneath, she wears a fine cotton petticoat and pantalettes. She remains in nice condition with scattered minor crazing to face and shoulderhead (particularly to left upper chest, below neck), and patching throughout her leather and wooden body. She would make a stunning centerpiece to any early doll collection.
