Beautiful Poured Wax Portrait Doll by Lucy Peck
Beautiful Poured Wax Portrait Doll by Lucy Peck
There are signs that help us determine when a wax creation was born from the hands of English wax doll maker Lucy Peck, as there is a distinctive personality molded into each and every one. This lovely Edwardian lady dates circa 1900-10, and bears classic features such as inset blue glass eyes, and fabulous hand-rooted mohair in a marvelous shade. Even better, it retains its original upswept style and is adorned with a delicate bandeaux of pearls and a snowy feather plume.
On a shapely cloth lady body, fitted with nicely modeled wax arms and legs, she wears a gown of dusky pink silk (tender in places), with a dropped waist, multiple layers edged in ecru lace and a lavish bustle style sash. Layers of original under things, cream net stockings and pink leather shoes complete the original presentation.
