A marvelous wooden lady from the Grodnertal, at 12 3/4” tall she is a wonderful cabinet size. This lovely model is in beautiful condition overall, with her lower arms and hands presenting normal, age related wear with minor paint loss to hands. Her facial features are vivid and include blue eyes, petal pink cheeks and a well-painted mouth (small surface line to the left front of neck.) Her black-painted hair is center parted with a carved texture and a low, braided bun in back. A woven bonnet trimmed in grosgrain ribbon and blue silk frames her face. Her classic, jointed, wood body features the original paint finish and she wears a very charming, rustic costume in a delightful palette of antique textiles. Brown stockings and leather shoes complete her presentation (shoes do present age related finish loss.) A wonderful doll that will greatly enhance any collection of early dolls.
