Wigged China Attributed to Kestner
Wigged China Attributed to Kestner
This lovely little so-called Biedermeier, or wigged china, attributed to Kestner, features a perfect shoulderhead with beautiful molding and painting. Details include blue eyes framed by ash blonde brows, delicately blushed cheeks and rose hued lips. She retains her original blonde mohair wig topped with a seafoam green silk bow. She is on a cloth body with china limbs in beautiful condition; her tiny, graceful hands are semi-closed, while her lower legs feature heeled, three-strap boots (minor wear to toes of boots.) She wears a darling cotton dress in blue and white stripe with a lace trimmed, bertha style bodice (area of discoloration to front of dress) plus a sweet calico apron in pink and white. She would make a wonderful younger sister or child for a larger Biedermeier china.
