At 31” tall, this German wooden shoulderhead has a commanding presence and could be the centerpiece of a collection of early dolls. She boasts a luxurious molded hairstyle in a deep brunette shade, featuring a carved texture and a low bun and topped with a coronet of antique milinery flowers and antique silk ribbon. Her face features beautiful molding and painting with blue eyes, pink tinted cheeks and closed, pink hued lips. Her shoulderhead is in good condition with normal, age related wear. She wears an antique silk ribbon choker. She is on a firmly stuffed cloth body with slender, painted wooden arms (right arm is missing thumb) and cloth legs and feet. Her original gown, in a soft ecru shade, is in made of a loose weave jacquard and features a seamed bodice, an off the shoulder neckline with short, puffed sleeves, lace false sleeves, and a full skirt (dress is fragile and does present normal age related wear with significant shattering to fabric and scattered holes.) Underneath, she wears a cotton petticoat with horizontal stitching as well as long pantalettes. She retains her original knitted cream stockings and slippers with a wonderful, aged patina (slippers do present major wear to finish.)
