Here we have a wonderful, needle sculpted cloth doll styled as a maid. She features a finely sewn face with embroidered features, pierced ears and stitched charcoal gray yarn hair styled in a low bun and topped with a cap of tatted lace. She has a flexible body with a sewn-on maid’s costume in a silky black fabric (possibly an early synthetic), with a cream collar and cuffs, a tiny brooch made of a red bead and a fine cotton apron trimmed in lace. Underneath, she wears a red petticoat with a tiered, ruffled hem. Her black oilcloth boots are mounted on a square of tar paper roofing material.
