This sweet China Girl, known as “Highland Mary” features beautiful facial painting with blue eyes, delicately blushed cheeks and rose hued lips in a sweet smile. Her face is framed with molded, wavy golden blonde bangs and sausage curls in the back. She is on a body of polished cotton in good condition (body does present scattered age related discoloration and some loss of filling at tops of legs.) Her delightfully chunky bisque arms and legs are in beautiful condition. She wears a red polka dot dress with full sleeves, a ruffled bertha collar edged in lace and an embroidered, scalloped trim at the hem. A darling cotton pinafore with crocheted lace embellishments, mother of pearl buttons at the shoulders, and the remnants of a hand embroidered monogram completes her classic look. Underneath, she wears a cotton all in one. She “wears” black, heeled boots over molded white cotton stockings with painted, blue ribbon garters at the knee and a molded detail at the top.
