Undoubtedly among the finest of the French Folding Salons we have ever offered, this example is among the earliest as well, as this one dates circa 1850-70. Styled as a chambre de nuit, the natural wood scroll-cut furnishings are still tied in place, as are the carpets and some of the pictures. The quilted satin upholstery, in vibrant blue, remains intact, as do the Dresden paper edgings. The overall condition is very good, showing just some minor wear to edges. This exquisite room would make a superb home for special tiny chinas, waxes, woodens, or papier-maches who stand approximately 5” in height.
