We date this set about 1900, and we have owned this wonderful Dining Suite for many, many years. It has confounded us for just as long, because we are not exactly sure from what material it was made. Our best guess is that it was fabricated from a type of sheet celluloid, that was scroll-cut into these marvelous pieces. Included is a great sideboard, a table (one leg replaced) and four side chairs.
The overall condition is quite good save for the one leg mentioned above. The only clue to its origins is a small paper label upon the sideboard's base that reads "PATENTE" and "CH" contained in a shield.
Sideboard measures: 6" tall x 4 5/8" wide x 1 3/4" deep
