On October 31, and November 1, 2014, over 170 doll enthusiasts and selfless volunteers descended upon The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in the city of Seattle, Washington for the Rose Percy Fundraising Event, in hopes of doing good work on behalf of veterans’ charities. We are happy to report – “mission accomplished!” Over $45,000 (a new record for Rose Percy events) will be distributed due to the efforts of the members of The Seattle Doll & Toy Collectors Club, Event Chairperson Mary Senko, and attendees who traveled from across the country to participate.

Here, in this video presentation, you will see highlights of Friday’s Red Cross Brunch which was sponsored by The Grovian Doll Museum and resulted in not only a $5000 donation by the museum to The American Red Cross, but also over $2500 in additional donations from brunch guests. In addition, Miss Rose Percy was awarded The Clara Barton Award for Meritorious Service from The American Red Cross.
Following the brunch, you will see scenes from Saturday’s Liberty Ball, the fundraising event for veterans’ needs.

We hope you enjoy our presentation, and through it will be inspired to make plans to attend the next Rose Percy Fundraising Event scheduled for February 26-27, 2016, in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Way They Wear

OSaturday, November 15, 2014

The third event in The Grovian Doll Museum's "Lunch, Listen and Learn" series featured a full day of activities including an American-style tea, antique dolls, and their fashions. The presentation, by Michael Canadas, explored the progression of fashion through the ages, with particular attention paid to antique doll clothing. A special exhibit staged just for the event showcased dolls with wardrobes, and offered a sneak peek of The Grovian's treasures to the registered guests.
