Although its original purpose may have been for use as a jewelry box, now this Italian painted Bombé Commode, with its Venetian sensibilities, will be a marvelous addition to any doll room or vignette.
Incorporating graceful lines, and delicate painting in the neoclassic taste, the palette, patina and style are very appealing. The three beautifully shaped drawers are lined in golden moire, and that soft addition will help keep your dolls' most valuable treasures secure.
The piece remains in very good condition overall, showing normal wear.

This is just a marvelous piece that utilizes a hardwood case which is extensively decorated with rich veneers in a parquetry pattern, plus finely cast ormolu mounts found overall.
The lovely door, with its shaped mirror, opens easily to reveal a finished interior that contains two shelves, while a single drawer can be found below.
